Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) Movie Review- Old Movie Reviews

With the upcoming release of Terminator Genisys, I have decided to watch all of the Terminator films and here is my review for Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The sequel to the 1984 Terminator, James Cameron returns to direct this sci-fi action film, continuing the story of the hunt for Sarah and John Connor. Set 10 years after the first film, John Connor (Edward Furlong) is hunted by the new T-1000 (Robert Patrick), sent from the future to kill John in the past before he rises to power aganist the machines. The human resistance from the future sends a friendly T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) back in time to protect John, as well as his mother Sarah (Linda Hamilton). Terminator 2 is widely regarded as one of the best sequels of all time, so I was naturally pumped to watch this film, especially after I watched and enjoyed the first Terminator film so much. Terminator 2 will indeed enter my sequel club of some of the best sequels ever made because I really freaking love this movie. Easily one of my favorite action movies ever made, Terminator 2 literally improved upon everything that made the first film so great. The action is bigger and more exciting, the characters have more depth, the stakes are higher, the one liners never cease to make me love Arnie, and the movie is just two and a half amazing hours of entertainment. What did you guys think of Terminator 2? Best of the series? Let me know down below!

Terminator 2 is an enthralling, groundbreaking piece of science fiction cinema and quite possibly one of the best sequels for a film I've ever seen. The action sequences are bigger and broader in scope and spectacle and continuously never disappoint. The stakes and tension are significantly higher as opposed to those of the highly exciting T1, while the T-1000 has earned a spot as one of my all time favorite movie villains. The characters are even deeper this time around. I mean, who doesn't love seeing this badass side of Sarah Connor. I loved this side of Linda Hamilton. And an Arnie who smiles? Just perfect! The performances are great, the one-liners are ceaseless in the best of ways, and the movie manages to keep me fully engaged to this sci-fi adventure for the entirety of it's run time. The CGI even still holds up to this day and is some of the best I've seen put to film thus far. James Cameron took risks with this movie and he does not disappoint. In my opinion, this is his best film to date and one of the best action movies ever made. Highly, highly recommend.
